Red Hat and Teens in AI partnered to help close the AI skills gap across EMEA by giving young people aged 12 to 18 access to learning, mentorship, and real-world opportunities in technology.
Built on a shared commitment to openness, collaboration, and inclusion, the partnership supported young people from underrepresented backgrounds to explore AI in ways that felt practical, future-facing, and socially relevant. Through volunteer engagement and flagship programme delivery, Red Hat helped create more opportunities for young people to build confidence and develop their ideas.
The partnership combined volunteer engagement, thought leadership, and challenge-based learning to help more young people build skills and confidence in AI.
Young people were introduced to AI through a partnership designed to widen access, build ambition, and encourage more diverse participation in technology across EMEA.
Red Hat associates contributed through mentoring, judging, speaking, and instruction, helping bring industry insight and open-source values directly into the learning experience.
As part of the IWD Global Techathon flagship programme, participants developed ideas, strengthened technical and transferable skills, and explored how AI can be used to respond to real-world challenges.
“At Red Hat, we believe that the future of AI is open and not confined to a select few. We are delighted to support Teens in AI in their efforts to inspire and nurture future AI talent. This collaboration reflects a shared commitment to fostering a future where AI is not only innovative but dependable, ensuring it serves as a force for good across industries and communities.”
Claire Delalande, Vice President of Marketing for EMEA, Red Hat
This partnership was delivered through the IWD Global Techathon, one of Teens in AI’s flagship programmes designed to help young people learn by doing.
By combining challenge-based learning with volunteer mentoring, thought leadership, and industry engagement, the partnership gave participants access to practical support and wider perspectives on the future of AI. It also showed how corporate collaboration can help widen participation, strengthen confidence, and support more inclusive innovation at scale.
For organisations looking to support inclusive AI learning through mentorship, employee engagement, and challenge-based programme delivery.
Through this partnership, more young people across EMEA were able to explore AI in a way that felt open, collaborative, and connected to real opportunity.
The programme created space for participants to engage with mentors, develop projects, and build confidence in their own ideas while learning from people already working in the field. It also helped reinforce the importance of openness, diversity, and responsible innovation in shaping the future of AI.
