Teens in AI partnered with the Ministry of Education in Brunei Darussalam to deliver a multi-phase programme focused on AI skills, entrepreneurship, and innovation capacity-building for young people and educators.
Designed to support the country’s wider ambition around Industry 4.0 and AI-driven national development, the initiative combined student engagement, teacher development, and challenge-based learning. The result was a partnership model that connected education, innovation, and real-world application in a way that felt both nationally relevant and practically grounded.
The programme was designed as a multi-phase initiative, combining student learning, teacher engagement, and applied project development.
Students and educators were introduced to key concepts in AI, entrepreneurship, and innovation through workshops and structured learning experiences designed to strengthen future-ready skills.
The programme brought together students, teachers, mentors, corporate speakers, and Ministry representatives, creating a collaborative environment that linked education with wider national ambition.
Participants developed projects linked to real-world challenges and the UN Sustainable Development Goals, helping turn technical learning into practical, socially relevant innovation.
“Our AI initiative in Brunei gained national and international media attention, highlighting the impact of youth-led innovation and ethical AI development.”
Programme Impact, Brunei Initiative
This partnership was designed to support Brunei Darussalam’s broader vision for AI-driven growth, productivity, and innovation by building capability across both youth and educators.
Delivered as a multi-phase programme, it combined inter-school hackathons, workshops, and teacher training to create a more connected approach to future-ready learning. The model supported not only student participation, but also the wider development of an ecosystem in which education, innovation, and national priorities could work together.
Ideal for ministries, public sector bodies, and national education partners looking to build AI literacy, innovation capability, and youth engagement at scale.
Through this partnership, young people and educators gained access to an initiative that connected national ambition with practical skills development.
The programme created space for students to explore AI and entrepreneurship through hands-on learning, while also supporting teachers and stakeholders in building a stronger foundation for future-facing education. By linking project work to real societal challenges, the initiative encouraged participants to see AI not only as a technical field, but as a tool for responsible innovation and national progress.
