1. Introduction

Teens in AI is committed to conducting its activities responsibly, fairly and ethically. We expect comparable standards from staff, contractors, delivery partners and suppliers involved in our work. Our approach is informed by recognised international labour principles, including those reflected in the Ethical Trading Initiative Base Code.

2. Scope

This policy applies to staff, contractors, delivery partners and suppliers involved in Teens in AI’s work.

3. Our Commitments

Teens in AI is committed to:

  • Ensuring employment and work are freely chosen and rejecting forced, bonded or compulsory labour.
  • Not tolerating modern slavery, human trafficking or exploitation.
  • Protecting children and young people from exploitation and inappropriate work.
  • Treating workers, contractors and partners fairly and without unlawful discrimination.
  • Providing fair and transparent terms of engagement and payment.
  • Supporting safe and appropriate working conditions.
  • Respecting applicable requirements relating to working hours, remuneration and employment rights.
  • Respecting freedom of association and lawful worker representation.
  • Conducting business with integrity and avoiding unethical or exploitative practices.
  • Considering environmental and social responsibility when selecting significant suppliers and partners.

These principles reflect recognised ethical trading standards covering freely chosen employment, safe working conditions, fair remuneration and responsible employment practices.

4. Suppliers and Partners

Where proportionate to the nature and risk of the relationship, Teens in AI will consider ethical, safeguarding, data protection, labour and environmental practices when selecting and reviewing suppliers and partners.

We expect organisations working on our behalf to comply with applicable laws and to maintain standards consistent with the principles of this policy. Serious concerns may result in further investigation, corrective action or termination of the relationship.

5. Raising Concerns

Staff, contractors and partners are encouraged to raise concerns about suspected unethical conduct with the Founder & CEO or another appropriate member of the leadership team.

Concerns will be reviewed appropriately and may be managed through our Non-Conformance and Corrective Action Procedure.

6. Monitoring and Review

6.1 Concerns raised under this policy are logged and reviewed.
6.2 This policy is reviewed at least annually, or following a significant change to our activities or requirements.
