🎤 Fireside: Why it’s important for Teenagers to get involved in AI

The conversation explores why early engagement with artificial intelligence is essential for teenagers, both to prepare them for future careers and to enable them to actively shape the technologies that will define their world. The session highlighted the global impact of Teens in AI’s programmes in equipping young people – particularly girls – with the skills and confidence to participate in the AI revolution, alongside perspectives from a 2025 hackathon winner and a young professional undertaking an AI apprenticeship. The conversation also examines the opportunities and risks associated with AI, including deepfakes, bias in systems, and opaque decision-making, underscoring the importance of digital literacy, awareness, and responsible innovation in building a fair and inclusive AI-driven future.

The speakers:

  • Elena Sinel, Founder & CEO, Teens in AI
  • Victoria Sinel, Non-Executive Director at Teens in AI and Apprentice at IBM, currently undertaking a Master’s degree in AI and Data Science in London
  • Mahroosh Umer, Teens in AI alumna and previous hackathon winner
