The session will spotlight Capgemini’s Global Data Science Challenge 2025 (GDSC 2025), part of Capgemini’s global partnership with UNICEF in support of their Green Rising initiative, which aims to mobilise more than 20 million youth by 2026 with the skills and opportunities to drive climate action.

About the speakers:

Guillaume Gérard is the Head of AI, Insights & Data France at Capgemini, with over a decade of experience helping public and private sector organisations design, deploy, and scale transformative AI solutions. He specialises in translating cutting-edge research into practical applications that deliver measurable impact. Passionate about innovation, Guillaume sees AI not just as a technology, but as a catalyst for reimagining how organisations operate and create value. His expertise spans advanced disciplines including operations research, computer vision, and agentic AI. Beyond client work, he leads AI expert communities, fosters collaboration on emerging topics, and helps shape AI-driven offerings that turn innovation into sustainable business advantage. Driven by curiosity and purpose, he is committed to bridging the gap between technological potential and real-world impact, empowering teams and ecosystems to harness AI responsibly and effectively.

David Ponet leads UNICEF’s Global Volunteer Initiative and Green Rising, mobilizing millions of young people worldwide to take climate action and create pathways to green skills, jobs, and ventures. Today, more than 15 million youth across 40+ countries are driving impact in areas including health, education, and climate resilience—strengthening communities and building sustainable livelihoods for themselves.
With over 15 years at UNICEF, David has helped the organization harness civic and youth power to accelerate change—from engaging parliaments on children’s rights to building global movements for refugees and climate justice. Before joining UNICEF, he held senior roles in government and campaigns advancing housing, energy, and economic reform, and served as Vice President of Research at an investment firm. David holds a Ph.D. in Political Science.
