Tabitha Goldstaub, Co-Founder of Lichen AI and creator of How To Talk To Robots has been working with BBC Studios to develop a new reality TV format to entertain and empower the public, leaving them with the confidence needed to make sure AI works for them, not the other way around.

Want to go beyond the hype to understand how AI touches your life, work, and future? We are inviting 18+ teens to come to the first How To Talk To Robots AI Bootcamp and learn the essentials you can use right away. How To Talk To Robots is looking to test a bootcamp concept with some real world people who would enjoy a day getting hands-on with targeted and generative AI.
The bootcamp has been carefully curated with thanks to so many experts and will be brought to life in November with Multiverse, Faculty, OpenAI, AIConfident, Careful Industries, Teens in AI, Lichen AI and hosted by Innovate Cambridge, Unit M in Manchester and Royal Academy of Engineering in London.

✔️ OpenAI Academy Online content: a short custom module to get everyone to the same starting line!
✔️ AI basics 101: What do you really need to know?
✔️ Real use cases: what AI can do today in practical terms – and just how quickly is this evolving?
✔️ Set-up & tools: How to choose the right tools, get access, start a simple project/app.
✔️ Build, build, build: Hands on experience- building real, functioning apps.
✔️ Ethics in practice: How to consider things like bias, privacy, accountability, climate when using AI by ‘consequence scanning’.
✔️ Problem-identification: a simple method to understand a problem, that will help you find the solution!
✔️ Solving challenges: matching your new knowledge to problems you’d like to solve!
Whether you’re a poet, physicist, nurse, business owner, artist, shopkeeper, lab tech, entrepreneur, new graduate (or none of the above), this day is for you! No prior AI knowledge (or even optimism!) required; just curiosity and a willingness to explore.
