Our Founder, Elena Sinel; Mahroosh from Team Futuristaan, the winning team of the Teens in AI Global Techathon 2025; and Jen Dudeck, Senior Vice President and Chief People Officer at Red Hat, spoke at length about the opportunities – and challenges – that AI presents.
Event: Red Hat’s EMEA Talks Panel
Topic: “Bridging the AI Skills Gap”
When 30 April 2025
Where: Virtual
Mahroosh shared her inspiring journey working on Menova – an AI-powered app offering personalised, culturally-sensitive menopause support for women worldwide.
“At first, I thought it would just be something to add to my CV. But Teens in AI gave us the tools and belief to build something real. Now, I see AI as a way to make genuine change – even as a teenager.” – Mahroosh, Team Futuristaan from Pakistan
Elena reminded us how change starts with small actions and inclusive thinking: “Progress still needs work – the world is not yet equitable. But you can start by simply speaking at a local school, volunteering, or supporting a teacher learning about AI. Those small efforts can change lives.” – Elena Sinel, Founder of Teens in AI.
From London to Lahore, these stories prove that with the right opportunities, young people can lead the way in using AI for good.
A big thank you to Red Hat for giving us this platform.
Red Hat collaborated with Teens in AI on its IWD Global Techathon Programme for 2025.
