ACS International

Creating AI future leaders

We have partnered with ACS International, a group of four independent schools, to run a unique 12-week programme developed to go beyond the school curriculum and introduce students to the fundamentals of building responsible AI.

The programme aimed to provide the students with the tools to apply machine learning and data science to real-world problems related to UN SDGs while working as a team in an extended hackathon to develop a solution and present it to a panel of judges.

Working together for change

How we made it happen

Students participated in a series of mentorship sessions covering various aspects of the fields of AI and tech. They learned how to analyse data, draw predictions using machine learning, make and critique ethical arguments.

Students were encouraged to collaborate with a team of their peers in order to develop interpersonal skills as well as their personal skills such as confidence, time management, problem-solving and leadership.

Inspiring the next generation

Participants gained valuable knowledge on responsible AI, principles of coding, and design thinking. They walked away with newfound expertise, and made new friends.

  • Female Participants 40%
  • Would participate again 90%
  • Want to continue coding after programme 80%
